Our teacher is Miss Smith.
Stone Age to Iron Age
This term our topic is all about the Stone Age, up until the Iron Age. We will be learning about life during this time, how humans survived, how and what they hunted and where they lived. We will use our research skills to find out about the period.
We will look at a range of non-fiction books to help our learning, as well as using story books, such as the 'Stig of the Dump'.
We will be writing a range of genres, focusing on stories, letters, persuasive writing and non-chronological reports.
This term we will continue our learning of multiplication and division, of course using the year 3 times tables of 3, 4 and 8s.
We will also start to look at money, graphs, length and perimeter and later starting our fraction topic.
Working on children's times tables and mental strategies will aid them in their maths learning.
This term in science we will be looking at electricity. The children will learn what electricity is, how to build a working circuit making bulbs light up, or buzzers buzz, as well as different ways to make electricity.
Chameleon's class book this term is Hacker by Malorie Blackman. The children chose this book based on its exciting plot line and the link to our computing lessons. We look forward to finding out about the characters and if she can hack her father out of trouble.
Please ensure the children have a named PE kit in school.
Homework will be sent out on a Friday along with spellings.
Maths homework will be set on Study Zone and Rockstar times tables.
