Home School Agreement
 

WHAT PARENTS EXPECT FROM THE SCHOOL

1. The school will provide challenging opportunities, guidance and support so that each child can achieve their full academic potential within the framework of the National Curriculum.

2. The school will value each child as an individual.

3. The school will contact parents at an early stage if it has concerns about a child’s behaviour, learning or attendance.

4. The school will hold regular meetings with parents and provide them with an annual report on their child’s progress.

5. The school will value all its children, regardless of race or gender, by showing them tolerance and respect. It will have high expectations of the children’s social behavior and will require them to follow the school’s code of conduct.

6. The school will have agreed policies and procedures on bullying, racism and verbal and physical aggression.

7. The school will provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment in which the children can live and work and take a pride. The school will expect children to participate in caring for the building and grounds.

8. The school will aim to promote a reputation for being well-ordered and disciplined and for having concern for it’s neighbours and the community.

9. The school will promote the development of the children’s moral and spiritual values.

10. The school undertakes to look after the children’s physical well-being during school time and will contact the parents if it has concerns about the child’s health.

11. The school undertakes to begin promptly at 09:00hrs each day, to end at 03:15pm and to work with parents to ensure punctuality and good attendance.

WHAT THE SCHOOL EXPECTS OF THE PARENTS

1. Parents undertake to support the school in this by helping and encouraging their children in all their learning activities.

2. Parents will share the responsibility for the education of their child.

3. Parents will inform the school of any changes that may affect their child’s behaviour, learning or attendance.

4. Parents will attend the meetings provided for them by the school.

5. Parents will support the school’s codes of conduct, discipline and dress necessary to ensure the smooth running of the school.

6. Parents will work with the school in following these procedures.

7. Parents by their own example show their children how to care for the school site and will comply with school rules designed to ensure the health and safety of everyone on the school site.

8. Parents will work with the school and other professionals in any procedures which require parental involvement.

9. Parents will ensure that their children behave in a sensible, orderly and kind way outside as well as inside school.

10. Parents will support the school in the development of their children’s moral and spiritual values.

11. Parents will ensure their children arrive at school ready to participate in lessons and school activities.

12. Parents undertake to ensure their children arrive at school on time and depart on time and to inform the school of reasons for lateness and absence.
