Welcome to Lion Class
We are Year 6 and our teacher is Mrs Reeve.
This term our topic is 'Hola Mexico'. We will be exploring this unique country, from its towering temples and stunning geography to its pulsing rhythms and fun-packed festivals. We will also be creating a range of different Mexican dishes and learning about the ancient Maya civilisation-including how they made chocolate!
As part of our Mexican topic we will be studying the film Coco and creating our own stories based on this.
Our class book is 'Sky Song' by Abi Elphinstone and we will be doing lots of work around this book in our Guided Reading lessons.
A few reminders
PE days are on Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure that the children have their PE kit in school at all times (especially on these days). It is also really helpful if the PE kit is named.
Reader of the week is awarded on a Friday. Please continue to support your children with their reading at home. It is also important for the children to continue to practise their times-tables whenever possible (even if they have achieved their white wristband).
Homework will be set on a Friday and will be due in the following Wednesday. This will usually consist of spellings and a maths or reading activity. If Topic homework is set, this will sometimes have a different deadline.
Lion Class Assembly is Wednesday 10th October (Term 1).
