Who Made Britain Great?
This term we will be looking at a different explorers from history- learning about and comparing significant figures in British history!
We will be starting our journey in Herne Bay by looking at the life and death of Amy Johnson- the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia.
Next will be Ernest Shackleton who sailed a crew on board the Endurance to Antarctica, although not all went to plan!
We will then be heading to the clouds with Tim Peake who went to the International Space Station with the European Space Agency.
Earth, light and space!
For the Autumn we will be exploring Earth, light and space!
We will be learning about the planets, their distances from the sun and their orbits.
We will also be finding out about how light travels to our eyes.
PE will be on a Friday. Your PE kit must be in schools at all times and include...
Make sure your PE kit is in school at all times as it is often needed at other times.
Homework will be set on a Friday and is due back the following week. This will often consist of spellings based on the spelling rules we have looked at in class that week as well as reminders to practise your times tables.
At the start of each term you will also receive a list of topic homework ideas, I will ask for a minimum about of pieces to be completed but the rest is up to you! Get creative, the list is to just give you some ideas, you do not need to stick to it!
Please continue to read regularly at home. In your reading records, you can record it in your own way. Remember, it doesn't always have to be your adults filling out this book!
