Sycamore Year 5
Welcome to Year 5, we are Sycamore Class and our teachers are Mrs Reeve (Monday-Thursday) and Mrs Fairhall (Friday). We are very lucky to also have Mrs Benson and Mrs Whitehead working with us too!
Our topic this term is 'Do we appreciate what we have?'. We will be looking at different biomes and how climate change is affecting the world.
Throughout our curriculum we explore the PSHE threads: risk, resilience, rights & responsibilities and change, as well as respect and diversity.
For PSHE we follow Jigsaw - this term, our 'piece' is 'Being Me'.
Our class book this term is 'Cosmic' written by Frank Cottrell-Boyce.
In Science, we are looking at Earth and Space. We have explored how the Earth moves in relation to the Sun, as well as looking at the different phases of the Moon. We will also be understanding night and day around the world and learning about the other planets in our solar system.
We will be doing Football in PE this term on Thursdays - please make sure that you have your PE kit on!
Forest School is on Wednesdays so please make sure you bring clothes to change into!
