But water and mud lead to a lot of problem solving, critical thinking, and engineering!
Week 2
With all the November Rain we've had, we have started a Weather Station
We figured out how to make mud into clay
We continued our art
We made use of used pumpkins for bird feeders
And we noticed the tiny things around us...
Week 3- a week of fossil hunting...
We love the flint at Forest School
We dug it up and looked closely at it
We cleaned it
and found patterns
We gouged out caked dirt
and found sparkles
We split the rocks open
and looked inside
at patterns and crystals
Week 4
More rain equals....
More MUD!
and boy do we like it!
We've also looked for info on our fossils and rocks
And we made art on a bigger scale...
Like, REALLY BIG!
Year 2 completed it, but...
Year 1 added to it!
Week 5
Windy Weather stops Forest School!
But we can still do some nature activities indoors!
Recognising birds
Enjoying stories
Cutting out leaves
Completing jigsaws
Looking closely
Drawing what we see
Looking up information
Learning life cycles
Week 6
Less leaves means making art from twigs
but it also means the birds are easier to see
400 trees arrived from the Woodland Trust
We've started to plant a willow tunnel
It will section off a wildlife area
Winter is definitely on it's way!
Week 7
Creating pictures seems to be an Autumn theme!
Using different coloured twigs, some leaves and berries...
We are able to make all kinds of wonderful
shapes...
and designs
We also added a little colourful magic to our campfire this week!
Rainbow flames!
But toasting mallows remains the BEST!
Happy Holidays Everyone!
