Welcome to the Apple and Cherry Classes!
The Apple and Cherry Classes are based at Chartham Primary School. The vision for these two Key Stage 2 classes is a focus on inclusive learning and experiences. Each class currently contains eight pupils with a Class Teacher, Higher Learning Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and Teaching Assistant (TA).
Pupils are encouraged to develop independent functional skills in class, the wider environment, inclusion sessions, dinner and playtimes.
Wherever possible, every pupil from both classes will participate in at least one inclusion lesson in their relevant year group within Chartham Primary School.
We encourage children to be involved in school assemblies, dinner time routines, playtimes, sports days, religious services, school plays and any extra-curricular activities. This enables each child to have a greater awareness of being part of a wider community outside of St Nicholas School.
At St Nicholas School, the children access specialist teaching such as swimming lessons, art, drama, music and maintain positive friendships with their peers based at the school.
