Summer Reading Challenge

Canterbury Library at The Beaney will launch the Summer Reading Challenge on 14th July

Summer Reading Challenge – how to get involved
Children aged 4-11 are invited to join the Summer Reading Challenge in all Kent’s libraries, running from Saturday 14 July to Saturday 15 September
The theme for 2018 is Mischief Makers; celebrating the 80th anniversary of the much loved comic, Beano.
Children taking part in the Challenge will follow clues to explore their colourful collector’s map of Beanotown; meeting Dennis, Gnasher and friends along the way. As children read library books, they will collect special stickers to help them find the mysterious buried treasure. When they have completed the Challenge by reading 6 books they will receive a medal and a certificate.
Mischief Makers will celebrate adventure, friendship, reading and fun and is a must for all children who want to live in the moment and be themselves.
Children can join the Challenge at their nearest library, and it is all free!
The Summer Reading Challenge has been shown to help encourage children to continue their reading over the summer and we would love to see more children take part, especially as the school with the highest percentage of children taking part receives an award. Come on Team Chartham!!
