    Dear Parents/Carers

We would first of all like to thank all of those who helped us with the last cake sale. There will be a chance for Year 1 children to show off their baking skills on Thursday 26th May.

All your child has to do is to make some cakes at home, then bring them into school on the morning of the cake sale.

The stall will be set up by the gates in the playground at school pick up, where you can buy as many delicious cakes as you would like!

  • Reading Superheroes

Sun 08 May 2016 Mrs Flewitt

Several weeks ago we launched Reading Superheroes in Key Stage 1; each child gets a point for their class total if they read at home. On a Friday the winning class is announced and awarded the 'Reading Treasure Chest' to use for a week. Children who have read every night receive a special mention in Celebration Assembly too. Thank you for supporting your children in this, we have seen a huge amount of enthusiasm for boosting their 'reading mileage'. Look out to see the winning class each week displayed in the lobby window at the end of the path into school. Keep up the good reading!!

  • Friends of Chartham Primary School - Next Meeting Thursday 5th May

    Wed 04 May 2016

The Friends of Chartham Primary School are a group of parents, teacher and governors who meet regularly throughout the school year to organise fun events which raise money for the school.

We are always on the lookout for new volunteers. Whether you can just help out at the occasional event or come along to the meetings, everyone is welcome and invaluable to what we do.

Without the support of new members we would be unable to put on events and raise money to benefit the children in the school. If you are able to help please email charthamfriends@gmail.com

Over the last few years, we have raised money to provide new furniture for book corners in every classroom, the Jubilee Castle and storytelling chair in the playground, as well as safety surfacing for the adventure playground. More recently we have funded Times Tables plates, beaker and bowls for the dining hall, storage for stage props, a PA system, and contributed £1000 towards the cost of new books for the library and reading scheme. We are now planning on funding a new piece of play equipment for the playground.

Thanks to the generosity of parents, family members and friends, as well as local businesses. Together we have made a huge difference to the fundraising over the years.

Our next Friends meeting is Thursday 5th May from 7.30pm held at the school. Everyone is welcome and if you feel you want to be more involved in the school please do come along. Refreshments will be provided.

Many thanks and we will look forward to seeing you there.
