Dear Parents/Carers

The annual Chartham Chase event will be taking place on Wednesday 20th September 2017.

The Chartham Chase challenges the children to complete ten laps of a simple activity course set up around the school playground.

The children complete the Chase at their own pace and once finished, will be provided with a drink and a sticker.

Reception children will have their Year 6 buddies to help and support them as they go around.

We would like to ask you to sponsor your child just £1.00 to take part. This can be brought into school, in a named envelope on the day of the event.

The school council will be deciding on how to spend the money we raise!

If you would like to come to watch your child, the approximate starting times will be as follows:

Reception:9.30am-10am. Years 4&5:11am-11.45am.

Years 1&2: 1.30pm-2.15pm. Years 3&6: 2.15pm-3pm.

In the event of bad weather, we may have to postpone.

We have been back in school for a week and I have already received many entries for my Summer Reading Bingo Challenge and slips for Buster's Weekly  Reading minutes. If you have not done so already, please return entries to school by Friday 15th September.

I have also chatted to many children who have been very keen to tell me about completing the Summer Reading Challenge at the local library. It is wonderful to hear them talk so enthusiastically about their reading and how proud they are to receive certificates and medals for their endeavours. Chartham School featured in the Top 10 of local schools taking part in the challenge. Well done Team Chartham!!
